Steamed Whole Fish Chinese Style By erwin

Traditional, Healthy Easy, and Simple way to steam fish, plus who doesn’t love a little Asian Fusion sensation on their Dinner Plate.

Ingredients

  • 3tbl Fresh ginger, cut into long thin strips
  • 1 Bunch green onions/Scallions, very finely sliced
  • 2 whole snapper or other firm white fish, scaled, gutted, and washed
  • 5 Butter lettuce leafs
  • 2tbl Sesame oil
  • 4tbl Soy sauce
  • 2tbl Fresh minced garlic
  • 1tsp White pepper

Procedure

  1. Combine the ginger, garlic, green onion, and white pepper, set aside
  2. Lay the lettuce leafs in the bottom of the steamer
  3. Place the fish on top of the leafs and steam for 10-15 minutes
  4. When is done place the fish on a large serving dish
  5. Sprinkle the green onions and ginger over the fish
  6. Heat the oil slowly until it is very hot
  7. Pour the hot oil over the fish and it should sizzle and release the flavors from the aromatic ginger and green onions
  8. Sprinkle the soy sauce over the fish and serve immediately with rice
